There is nothing worse than a thief

I just have to speak out on a rash of thefts that has occurred in my office area.

Earlier in the year my office was literally broke into on three separate occasions. And of course they stole money, but in one of the incidents the crook also made a terrible mess of my desk and knocked over a plant and killed it. This made me almost madder than stealing my money.

The mess and death of my plant was uncalled for.

Then two weeks ago I left my desk for two minutes to go to the bathroom and during that time someone had came into my office, in broad daylight and took money out of my purse, that was under my desk. It takes some kind of nerve to do that not knowing if I am going to walk back in my office any second.

Then the next week the same thing happened to the lady in the office next door to me.

Now please don't give me the lecture about leaving my door unlocked or having my purse in my office, please rest assured I have heard it all already from the police who took my report, my husband and my father. I doubt there is much more anyone could add to the topic.

What makes it worse is if someone had came into my office and needed money I probably would have freely given what I had.

But I have learned my lesson. I never leave my office for a second, not even to run to the bathroom, without locking the door first. Plus I don't bring my purse into the office anymore. I haven't even been bringing it to work with me, I am leaving it to home.

So attention all thieves, there is no more money to be stolen from me or my office, you have already taken it all, so move along!!

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like to me its someone you least think that it would be that is watching and knows when you go to the bathroom and so forth. But, now that you got to vent and it wasn't life threating and you know to lock your doors and so forth just be grateful that is all that happened to you and hopefully you helped a person that needed the money to feed their hungry kids or pay a light bill instead of it being a person stealing it from an honest hard worker to pay for a drug habit.

It sounds like you need a security camera for the office.

Wow, that's crazy! And no one else around the office saw any unusual activity? I mean, plenty of people tan next door, not to accuse. The thief could use all those people as camo too...

Sorry that happened to you Carin!

I still can't believe someone stole from you just while you were in the bathroom! The nerve of people...
