Fireworks

This past fourth of July weekend my husband, James, and I took our two children, Leah and Campbell, to the Heber Springs Lake. My parents were also there along with many of my extended family members. And of course, it rained and rained, and we mostly stayed inside the camper. But thankfully the skies cleared long enough for the fireworks show. I think the best spot hands down to watch a fireworks show is from a boat, while the colors explode over your head. They just seem bigger and more magical. We all loaded up on the boat and headed out to enjoy the show. The kids loved it, they just set in awe staring at the sky. All the surrounding boats had their radio's tuned to the station playing accompanying patriotic music. It was just a great experience. There was one boat load of people, who decided to crank up their radio super loud to their own music. I was pretty aggravated at them because, but I just took a deep breath, and recited my motto, "breathe in the butterflies and not the bumblebees," and just ignored them and enjoyed the moment with my family. |
