Jinger was just talking about the eighties, so funny coincidence, but no this isn't all about the 80's song by George Michael. It's really about faith.

Wikipedia defines Faith as this:

Faith is a belief in the trustworthiness of an idea. Formal usage of the word "faith" is usually reserved for concepts of religion, as in theology, where it almost universally refers to a trusting belief in a transcendent reality, or else in a Supreme Being and said being's role in the order of transcendent, spiritual things.

Faith is probably one of the most powerful things in the world. People literally live and die for their faith. There are people in the middle east blowing themselves to pieces for their faith alone. In the worst of times faith is often the only thing you have to get you through it all.

For some faith alone is enough for to provide them with comfort through the most horrible circumstances. I truly try to comprehend this amazing thing, but cannot. I unfortunately am not the most faithful person in the world. I believe in God and do consider myself a christian. I often struggle with certain parts of faith. However, I have met several people who are truly testaments to their faith. A very good man once explained the principle of faith in God and Jesus when I was going through a very rough time. I had questions and doubts. He told me faith was like sitting in a wooden chair. I asked what he meant by that. He said, "well, you don't check the chair everytime before you sit on it do you?" I said no, I just sit in it. He told me, well, that's a perfect example of faith. You just trust that the chair won't let you down. You believe it will be there for you and won't let you fall. That's how faith in God works. I don't question or doubt. I just know he'll be there to hold me up and never let me fall down. That really made a lot of sense.

That opened my eyes up quite a bit with that simple analogy.

I realized that, with some, faith was truly all someone needed to have hope, love and laughter work miracles for them in their lives.

So, in my opinion, if you have hope, love, laughter, and faith, you have all the ingredients to work through any situation that you happen upon in this journey of life.

You combine those with loving family and friends and you can get through anything.

I have people ask me at least once a week, "How do you do it?" "How do you deal with the terrible loss you've experienced?" Most of the time I answer I don't know. But, the more I'm asked the more I've sat down and thought about it. The true answer is not simple, its actually very complex. I do know that each person has their own horrible things they deal with in their life. I've discovered that you mix in support from friends and family with love, hope, faith, and lots of laughter. That is the recipe to brave any storm, tornado, or hurricane that devastates your life.

Without those four things, friends, and family, there is no doubt I probably wouldn't be here talking to you today.

So I felt if I wrote about these that hopefully the entries would help someone who was feeling helpless and didn't know what else to do.

I hope I haven't bored you to tears with these. I hope I have helped at least one person who might have been feeling a bit lost with no where to turn.

Tomorrow is always another day.

One day at a time is all you can expect from anyone.

Wow. That is one powerful analogy. I never thought of it that way. I was having a bad morning, until I read this. Now I'm smiling.

Maybe because I'm picturing you in the hatchback of a vega, too. Or Circus Circus! That's funny, I don't care who you are!
