Endless Summer
Posted Sunday, July 6, at 7:52 AM
I know it's been a while since I last posted. I've been running around like a mad man lately. Last week, I and some fellow school employees flew down to San Antonio for the NECC conference. That's National Education Computing Conference. It's a HUGE conference with all the latest technology available for schools showcased, as well many many sessions for sharing ideas and methods for IT directors, principals, and teachers. It was a blast!
San Antonio is a beautiful city. It was my first time to be there and I must say I was impressed. We stayed right on the riverwalk downtown and it was something else. Restaurants galore!! We took in an authentic Mexican restaurant and the salsa made my nose run it was so hot! Not you're run of the mill Atzimba salsa. Don't get wrong…I would rather have Atzimba's, but this stuff was smoking hot. Here I was thinking I was able to woof down salsa like a man…and this happens. I need some better training I guess. It was a great time, but I was ready to get back to Aunnie and the boys. The family is doing great! The boys are swimming a lot. Carson has developed a bit of a stutter, which has me a little concerned. As anyone who knew me when I was young, it's almost like he's following suit perfectly. Not so much a stutter, he just gets stuck on words. I wasn't worried at all, but now I notice he doesn't talk to people as much. I think he's starting to notice he's doing it. We try not draw attention to it. I'm sure he'll grow out of it. Seth is enjoying his time off! He's figured out how to sleep in. I thought that day would never come! They both watch Camp Rock about 4 times a day and in between run in and out of the house about a million times. I'm making some progress building the computers for the Democrat. They should be done within the month. Thanks to everyone who is throwing me parts! The school is just about ready for the new school year. We are getting new computers for the business lab, so that will take some time to set up. Other than that, everything is going smooth. I'm on vacation this week!! My brothers and I are taking my dad fishing on the white river. I can't wait to teach them how to fish. The Hatchiecoon Howlers are moving along nicely! We will have about 6 six songs up on the website very soon. We are playing at Sidelines and the El Matador this month as well as some private parties. Be sure to go check it out! I guess that's it for now. Pretty boring I know, but it seems like we never stop!
Operation GTDCTWFIALTYTT Wow. I just read Carin's blog and I'm blown away. I had no idea. It makes me think about how much I may take things for granted. I guess it's hard not to get complacent with our lives, not realizing each and everything around us is a gift. You know, I was watching Kung-Fu Panda this past weekend, and this old wise turtle said…"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that's why it's called the present". ...
I have a blog? Sweetness! I can't believe I have a blog and didn't even know it! I've been really busy lately. First off, let me say what an honor it truly is to be an employee of the Trumann School District. I'm listed as the school's tech guy on here! So I would like to say that I look forward to getting up and coming to work every day. ...
