Wow. I just read Carin's blog and I'm blown away. I had no idea. It makes me think about how much I may take things for granted. I guess it's hard not to get complacent with our lives, not realizing each and everything around us is a gift.

You know, I was watching Kung-Fu Panda this past weekend, and this old wise turtle said…"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that's why it's called the present". I was blown away by this quote. I'm sure it's not original to the movie, but I'd never heard it. I remember thinking how true that is. Each day we have is given to us, but it's not guaranteed, so we should take advantage of the day. It makes me proud to read her story and see someone doing just that! Carin and James, you rock the house! GO CLASS OF 96!!! We rule! (That's Carin, not James :-))

While my story will pale in comparison, I feel like I need to tell it. I visited the Trumann Democrat last week. I gotta say I was blown away by the technology in the place. Or lack thereof I should I say. I think Carin's computer still had Prodigy installed on it right next to the Netscape icon. This thing could not have run any slower. Not only that, she has the need to run some pretty high end, processor intensive software like photoshop, which she has to click on at 4pm the DAY BEFORE she needs it.

My friends, we simply cannot have this. It is my mission, to build and donate a couple of computers to the Democrat. Of course I will have to do this in my spare time. So it may take a while. I am terribly busy during the summer getting the school districts network and PC's ready for next year. So if you have any old PC's laying around and want to get rid of them, let me know. My email is justinsmith354@gmail.com

I guarantee I could take old computer parts, solder them together, and it would run faster than these computers. One of them…get this….was in a FIRE!! The monitor somehow made it, and is still in use. It has since developed a mind of its own.

So that's it. I don't think I'm that good of a "blogger". I guess I'll shoot for one post a week. I'll let you know how it's going with operation Get The Democrat Computers That Were Fast In At Least The Year Two Thousand or….operation GTDCTWFIALTYTT.
