William Clayburn Hurd, 82, of Crossett passed away on Jan. 5, 2005 at Ashley County Medical Center. He retired as the supervisor of payroll accounting for Georgia Pacific after 29 years, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Crossett where he served as a deacon and an elder and was a member of the choir for over 30 years, he was a charter member of the Crossett Players, in the Spring of 1988 the board of directors of the Crossett Players voted to rename the Crossett Playhouse, "The Hurd Playhouse," in honor of Hurd and his wife Marjorie, he was a mason and member of the Rotary Club, he was named Rotarian of the Year and a Paul Harris Fellow.. ...
