Billy Joe Tippitt, 62, died May 10, 2003, at the family residence in Jonesboro of natural causes.

He was born in Trumann and had lived in Jonesboro for the past 12 years and was formerly of Texas. He was a retired truck driver for Action Manufacturing, a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Vietnam War and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by one brother and was the son of the late Alvin Dickie and Tisha Purnell Mitchell Tippitt.

The funeral was May 13 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Sister Shelby Shelton officiating the ceremony. Place of burial was at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro. Pallbearers were Kenny, Robert, Ricky, Tim and Keith Tippitt and Larry King. Visitation was May 12.
