Dorothy Jean Thomas

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Thomas of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, June 4, at the family residence of natural causes. She was 70 years old.

Mrs. Thomas was born on March 10, 1933, in Princeton, Ala., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was retired from the Arkansas Glass Container Packing Department in Jonesboro, Ark., and was of the Baptist belief. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar William and Rendy Flora Eakes Jones.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband Bobby Thomas, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Patsy Diane Kelly and Mrs. Teresa Renee Shuburte both of Trumann, and Mrs. Joan Gail Griffin of Jonesboro; two sons, Donald Ray Thomas of Jonesboro and Roger Elroy Thomas of Trumann; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ruth Morris of Trumann and Mrs. Joyce Qualls Mingo of Brookland; three brothers, Glen Joens of Sparta, Tenn., Junior Jones of Jonesboro, and Jimmy Jones of Trumann; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas were held Friday afternoon in the chapel of Thomason Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Tommy Jacobs officiating. The burial followed at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers were Johnny Griffin, Johnny Shuburte, Paul Wilson, Robbie Thomas, Steve Kelly and Jason Coin. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Morris, Ren Shuburte and Brian Thomas.
