Mr. Thompson was born in Trumann on May 11, 1957, and had lived in Jonesboro for the past 15 years. He was a factory worker for Roach Manufacturing in Trumann, a 1976 graduate of Trumann High School and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmitt Thompson St., and three sisters.
Survivors include Mr. Thompson's wife, Mrs. Onita Ann Clark Thompson of the home; two daughters, Jonetriya Thompson and Demetra Thompson both of the home; one son, Torre Thompson of the home; mother, Mrs. Rosie Thompson of Trumann; four sisters, Mrs. Shirley Thompson of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Rosie Thompson, Mrs. Leota Thompson and Mrs. Mattie Thompson all of Trumann; seven brothers, Emmitt Thompson, Jr. and Chester Thompson both of Los Angeles, Calif., John Thompson and William Thompson both of Jonesboro, Kenny Thompson and Floyd Thompson both of Trumann, and T.C. Thompson of Wichita, Kan.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. John Baptist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Brandon Walker and Rev. Charles Latham officiating. The burial followed at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
