Mr. Thomas was born in Athens, Ala., and had lived most of his life in the Trumann area. Mr. Thomas was a retired brick mason, a U.S. Army veteran and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Catheryn Bennett Thomas, and one daughter, Rhonda Thomas.
Survivors include Mr. Thomas's wife, Mrs. Margaret Thomas of the home; one son, Farrell Thomas of Trumann; one daughter, Mrs. Rona Douglas of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Lou Ella Merideth of Jonesboro and Mrs. Francis Upton of Trumann; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Bro. Murry Ray officiating. The burial followed at Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers were Eddie Brewington, Charlie Ross, Donnie O'Brien, Dale Whitlatch, Bob Cudd, Kelbey Masters and Norman Francis, Jr. was an honorary pallbearer.
