Troy Branscum

Mr. Troy Branscum, 79, of Trumann, died Tuesday, August 19,2003, at the family residence in Trumann from natural causes.

Mr. Branscum was born in Fox, Ark., and had lived in Trumann the past 13 years coming from Yuna, Ariz. Mr. Branscum was retired from the U.S. Army having served in World War II and was a POW. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Branscum was preceded in death by his parents, Cagle and Lola Gunter Branscum, one sister, and one brother.

Mr. Branscum is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Branscum of the home; three sons, Kenneth Branscum of Batesville, Ark., Larry Branscum of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jerry Wayne Branscum of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Hayward of Batesville, Ark. and Mrs. Nina Provence of Batesville, Ark.; one brother, Therlow Branscum of Troy, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held graveside with full military honors on Friday, August 22, 2003, with Rev. Ricky Forbis officiating at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers were James Beecher, Kenneth Branscum, Jr., Vernon Forbis, William Long, frank McElyea and Darrell Rains. Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Warren, Therlow Branscum, Paul Hayward and Keith Provence.
