Mr. Johnson was born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann. He was retired from the Singer Co and a member and deacon of the First General Baptist Church of Trumann. He was preceded in death by one brother and his parents.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Gerry Johnson of the home; one daughter, Lynda Sadler of Trumann; three sons, Johnnie Johnson of Searcy, Ark., Keith Johnson of Trumann, Steve Johnson of Harrisburg, Ark.; five sisters, Virginia Gullett of Camp verde, Ariz., Edith Randleman of Zalma, Mo., Mary Catherine Dickens of Texarkana, Ark., Patsy Woo of Phoenix, Ariz., Jane Warloe of Selma, Or.; two brothers, Ben Johnson of West Memphis, Ark., Berry Johnson of Crawfordsville, Ark., eight grandchildren, Aaron Sadler, Adam Sadler, Rachel Bryant, Jonathan Johnson, Candice Johnson, Chad Johnson, Avery Allison-Myree Bryant and Chloe Pearl Bryant.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Darrel Miller and Royce Schanda officiating. The burial was held at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers were Arden Robinson, Jr., Junior Carter, Bill Russell, C.A. Jones, Cliff Hopper and Ricky Wright. Honorary pallbearers were A.C. Stacy, Eugene Richardson, Rusty Jones, Kevin Watkins, Maylon White, James Pagan, John Sadler, James Vinson, Edward Hargrove, Cecil Passmore, Howard Henley, Herman Robertson, and J.W. "Dub" Roden.
