Mabel Meredith

Mabel "LouElla" Meredith, 78, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Plantation Homes Retirement Center.

Born at Athens, Ala., she was a homemaker and was a member of North Main Baptist Church. She had lived in Jonesboro since 1960.

Survivors include one son, Keith Meredith of Jonesboro; two daughters, Lou Cudd and Cheryl Jowers, both of Jonesboro; one sister, Francis Upton of Trumann; five grandchildren, Steven Cudd, Winn Meredith and Jessica Jowers, all of Jonesboro, Tim Cudd of St. Charles, Mo., and Brandon Meredith of Memphis; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Damon Meredith; one son, James Meredith; two sisters; two brothers; and one grandchild, Brooke Meredith.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at North Main Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Stacy officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bill Duncan, John Kee, Jim Bryant, Terry Hargett, Carl Fielder and Bill Dacus.

Grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
