Born at Herrin, Ill., she lived most of her life in the Harrisburg area. She was a homemaker and member of the former Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church and regularly attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Harrisburg.
Survivors include four daughters, Pearl Chambers and Dorotha Wilson, both of Harrisburg, Laretta Nance of Trumann and Gail Parnell of Front Royal, Va.; four sons, Doyal Lowery of Trumann, Jerril Lowery of Paragould and Alvis Lowery and Wayne Lowery, both of Harrisburg; two brothers, Paul Hancock of Kansas City, Kan., and William Lee Hancock Jr. of Florence, Ala.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. "Nub" Lowery; one daughter, Shirley Marie Lowery; two sons, J.E. Lowery Jr. and Clarence Leroy Lowery; her parents, William Lee Sr. and Jenny Mae Martin Hancock; three sisters; and five brothers.
Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 8, at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann, with the Rev. Paul Hale and the Rev. Tommy Woodruff officiating. Burial followed in Holly Springs Cemetery at Harrisburg.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Lowery, Eric Lowery, Scott Wilson, Clarence Lowery Jr., Patrick Parnell, Bradley Lowery, Joe Lowery, Freddie Chambers, Jeff Lowery, Bryan Lowery, James Lowery and Gaylon Lowery.
