Buford F. Wood, 82, of Jonesville, La., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, in Alexandria, La.

A former resident of Trumann, he was retired from the Singer Co. was and a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Lake Lilly Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Aurie B. Wood of Jonesville; two sons, Kenneth G. Wood of Harrisonburg, La., and Dennis L. Wood of Trumann; two sisters, Ovella Secrease of Trumann and DeEtta Hutchins of Decatur, Ill.; a brother, Delbert Wood of Jonesville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 20, Lake Lilly Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Bass and the Rev. James Foster officiating. Burial was Saturday, Feb. 21 in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dewaine Meyers, Tony White, Lank Bass, Gary Wood, Jeremy Wood and Everett Slaughter.

Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville was in charge of the arrangements.
