Olamaye Armstrong Kennedy

Olamaye Armstrong Kennedy, 93 of Ripley, Miss., died March 1 at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Henry Kennedy; one daughter, Elsie Helen Smith; one son, Reford Ray Kennedy; two sons-in-law, Robert Vanderford and Alfred Dees, and her parents, Andrew and Molly Nolan Armstrong.

She is survived by three daughters, Joann Vanderford of Byhalia, Miss., Kathryn Elizabeth Dees of Mammoth Spring and Martha Frances Stanley and husband Bill of Walls, Miss.; three sons, Edward Lee Kennedy and wife Bonita of Hot Springs, Billy Waburn Kennedy and wife Brenda of Trumann and Charles Henry Kennedy of Falkner, Miss; one son-in-law, James Smith of Ashland, Miss.; 34 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial followed at Ripley Cemetery in Ripley.

Pallbearers were Carl Kennedy, Bruce Armstrong, Gary Vanderford, Charled Kennedy, James Vandeford and James Kemp.
