He was born in Nelsonville and had lived in Trumann since 1962. He was formerly of Poughkeepsie. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired truck driver for Taylor, a member of the Little Springs Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Bell Taylor, and his father, Thomas Jefferson Taylor.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Gallaway of Little Rock and Carolyn Banks of Trumann; two sons, Ronald Taylor and Paul Taylor, both of Trumann; his mother, Carrie Bell Freeman Taylor of Trumann; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 10, at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers were Ray Gann, Gary Burgess, Ralph Hooker, Lester Hooker, John Avery and Eddie Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Taylor, Scott Taylor, Chatley Banks and Spencer Graham.
