James Therion Vinson

James Therion "Jimp" Vinson, 73, of Trumann died Monday, March 22, at his residence.

Born at Belmont, Miss., he had lived in Trumann all his life. He was retired from the Singer Co. and Columbia Forest Products and was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred "Midge" Vinson of the home; one son, Rick Vinson of Trumann; one daughter, Donna Vinson of Lake City; three sisters, Billie Jean Killian of Union City, Tenn., Sue Fagan of Trumann and Linda Welch of West Memphis; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Wayne Vinson; his parents, Otho and Hazel Bruton Vinson; and two sisters.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 24 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home, with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers included Leroy May, J.W. "Dub" Roden, Bob Walton, A.C. Daniel, C.A. Jones and Perry Harness.

Honorary pallbearers included Edward Hargrove, A.C. Stacy, Cecil Passmore, Gayle Grimes, John Johnson, Keith Johnson and Steve Johnson.

Memorials may be made to First General Baptist Church in Trumann.
