Dorothy Faye McCarty, 72, of Trumann died Sunday, April 11, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in Marked Tree, she had lived in Trumann for 48 years. She was retired from Trumann Public Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann.

Survivors include two sons, Roger McCarty of Trumann and Michael McCarty of Burleson, Texas; one daughter, Linda Knaper of Hot Springs; one sister, Inez Lee of Chico, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. McCarty; one daughter, Janice Dupuis; her parents, Harry and Beulah Lillard Akins; three sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 13, at the First Baptist Church in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Harold Pankey, Wade Knaper, Jim Dupuis, Jerry Greenwell, Michael Collier, Jerry McKinney and Dr. Kemp Childs.

Honorary pallbearers will include the Dorcas Sunday school class of First Baptist Church.
