Carolyn Taylor "Sissy" Watkins

Tuesday, April 20, 2004
Carolyn Taylor "Sissy" Watkins, 75, of Little Rock, died Sunday, April 18, 2004. Her family and friends comforted her, for the past few weeks, at Baptist Health. She was most fortunate to have spent the recent Easter weekend with her family at home.

Carolyn was born in Jonesboro to Norris and Laverne Taylor of Trumann. Sissy attended Trumann public schools. An active University of Arkansas alumnus, with a BA in Fine Arts, Carolyn was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Carolyn was retired from teaching kindergarten at First Christian Church and devoted most of her time to her family, friends, and travel. She was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, Scattered Seeds, Bas Bleu, and the Arkansas Arts Center. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Carolyn was preceded, in 1998, by the death of her beloved husband, Dick Watkins. Carolyn is survived by her two sons and their families, Rick Watkins, and his wife Marcia; Robb Watkins and his wife Susie; and four adored grandchildren: Robin, Win, Ryan, and Kate Watkins, all of Little Rock. Sissy is also survived by her brother, Norris Taylor of Fort Smith, and her cousin, Natalie Taylor Stuckey of Little Rock.

Her family and many friends will cherish her memory.

A private burial was Tuesday, April 20, and a memorial service was Wednesday, April 21, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to any benevolent organization of your choice.
