He was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Trumann. He was the son of Cleve and Ella Allen, pioneers of Trumann. He served in the Navy during World War II. In 1944 he and his wife moved to California, where he began work in the film studios. He worked as a set director on such shows as Mr. Ed, the Ghost and Mrs. Muier, the Monroes and MASH. He retired to Bullhead City, Ariz., in 1986.
He is survived by his brother, C.H. Allen, and his wife, Azalee, of Cherokee Village; his daughter, Karen Gentz and her husband, Rick, of Bullhead City, Ariz; his son, Barry Allen of Bullhead City; his granddaughter, Stephanie Wells and her husband, Chuck, of Castaic, Calif; three great-grandchildren, David, Siena and Gabrielle Wells. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
He was interred at Desert Lawn in Mohave Valley, Ariz., next to his wife, Izez, who died three years earlier.
