He was born June 25, 1917 in Monette. He was a deacon, a member of the First Baptist Churchin Providence, a Jaycee, a member of the American Disabled Veterans Society, a World War II veteran and a city councilman. He worked for the state highway department and was an antique dealer. He lost both legs in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ladd and a brother, Earl Ladd.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Ladd Zachem of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, H.A. Ladd of Turlock, Calif.; one sister, Eula Clem of Trumann; his caregiver, Janice Teague of Providence, Ky.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday May 9 at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home. Burial was in Christian Church Cemetery in Providence. Military rites were performed at the cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Wayne Clem, Doyle Clem, A.J. Clem, Mark Zachem, Bill Woodard and Rick Guizzio.
