James L. "Boll Weevil" Hamilton, 67, of Bay passed away on June 20 at Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes.

He was born in Lake City and had lived in Bay for the past 38 years. He was a retired electrician with Craighead Electric Co-op, 20 year retired veteran of the Bay Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Bay Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lee Adams Hamilton of the home; his son, Allen Edward Hamilton of Bay; three grandchildren, Seth Hamilton of Jonesboro, Wade Hamilton and Luke Hamilton both of Bay; six sisters, Marzella Benjamin of North Little Rock, Grethal Turner of Jonesboro, Annie Ransome of Jonesboro, Betty Spencer of Bay, Bobby Harrison of Jonesboro and Brittie McKinney of Rockford, Ill and Hiram J. Hamilton of Bay.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 23 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Bro. Joel McMasters and Bro. Marvin Rickett officiating. Burial followed at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.

Active pallbearers were Bruce Spencer, Paul Harrison, Eddie "Butch" Baker, Bobby Lee Baker, Mark Harrison and Eugene Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Moss, Leonard Holt, Roger Blakenship, Elmo Mahan, Freddie Farmer, Dr. Floyd Smith, Dr. Michael Crawley, Johnny Goodman and Roosevelt Spencer.
