Chalres Nix Sr.

Charles Nix Sr., 75, of Harrisburg died Tuesday, Aug. 17, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Harrisburg, he was a farmer, a carpenter and a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Harrisburg.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Nix of the home; two sons, Charles D. Nix of Harrisburg and Gary R. Nix of North Little Rock; a brother, G.W. Nix Jr. of Jonesboro; two sisters, Berneda Heeb of Harrisburg and Mattie Redd of Memphis; and two grandchildren, Mark Nix and Kyle Nix.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Sr. and Gussie Jane Shockley Nix, and a sister, Alma Nix.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Weston Funeral Service chapel in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Tom Sullinger officiating. Burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers included Jimmy Heeb, Randy Jones, John Hodge, Gerald Nix, Tommy Bartholomew and Steve Jones.

Honorary pallbearers included Bobby Smith, Nolan Norris, Jackie Prince, Jess Murray Sr., Harold Rice and Tony Heeb.
