Phillip Nelson Waters, Sr.

Funeral services for Phillip Nelson Waters Sr., 48, of Harrisburg, who died Friday, Aug. 20, at his home, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Weston Funeral Service of Harrisburg.

The Rev. Frank Hillis, the Rev. Greg Leatherwood and the Rev. John Lindsey officiated. Burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers included Danny Wessner, Bryan Barley, Phillip Waters Jr., Byron Mitleff, Mark Miles and David Miles.

Honorary pallbearers were Barry Mitleff, Sidney Reese, Randall Mitleff, Dustin Weeks, Eddie Churchwell, Nathaniel Elliot and James Casalman.

Born in Jonesboro, he was a lifelong resident of Poinsett County. A carpenter by trade, he was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church near Harrisburg.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Mitleff Waters of the home; two sons, Phillip Nelson Waters Jr. and Dalton Layne Waters, both of Harrisburg; his mother, Mabel Waters of Harrisburg; five sisters, Yvonne Adams, Donna Miles, Kaye Heeb and Eugonda Parnell, all of Harrisburg, and Malissa Gross of Trumann; a brother, Jimmy Waters of Harrisburg; and three grandchildren, Emileigh Waters, Katie-Beth Waters and Baylee Waters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Nelson Waters; two brothers; and a sister.
