Wendy Conway Proffitt

Wendy Conway Proffitt, 36 of West Memphis, formerly of Trumann passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23 at Jonesboro. She was born Sept. 23, 1968 in Trumann.

She was a staff accountant for the Coca Cola Company in Memphis until 1999 and was of the Baptist belief. She graduated from Truman High School in 1986 and received a degree in accounting from Arkansas State University. Singing was her ministry, she shared her faith by sharing her voice. She was affiliated with the Cancer Society and very active in the West Memphis Humane Society and actively supported the Porter Leath Orphanage in Memphis.

She had a passion for beauty pageants, loved life, traveling and shopping, especially Internet shopping. Her heart was so large, she loved her family and friends, especially her Coca-Cola family. Her loving heart and sprit were evident by the way she gave of herself.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ray and Retha Conway.

She is survived by her husband, Greg E. Proffitt of the home; her mother and step-father, Dianne and Junior Moss of Trumann; her father and step-mother Jackie "Duke" and Carolyn Conway of Brighton, Tenn.; two kids, "Sam" and "Daisy"; one step-daughter Hannah Proffitt of Brighton, Tenn.; mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Elizabeth Claude Proffitt of Marion; grandparents, LeRoy and Lucille Pippinger Dobbins; one step-sister Lisa Jones of Harrisburg; and two step-brothers Kenny Leggitt and Jason Taylor, both of Trumann and Bill Moss, all of Trumann and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were at the Church of God in Trumann on Sunday, Sept. 26 with Rev. Gary Barker and Rev. Ricky Dobbins officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ron Stockton, Phillip Bufford, Billy Stanley, Willie Ed Bullock, Kelly Magg and James Dean. Honorary pallbearers were Ashley Barker, Wilma Barker, Tracy Dean, Donna Jones, Karen Wilson, Charlotte Patterson, Gretchen Boyer and Julie Ray Heather Hutton and the Coca-Cola family of Memphis and Jonesboro.

Donations may be made to West Memphis Humane Society, Cancer Society and Porter Leath Orphanage.
