Betty Johnson Churchwell

Betty Johnson Churchwell, 69, of Harrisburg died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Harrisburg. She was retired from Trumann School District, was of the Pentecostal belief and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eck Churchwell; her parents, Tobe and Julia Bolding Johnson; one brother, William "Spooks" Johnson and one sister, Virginia Schmidt.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie and Todd Churchwell, both of Harrisburg; two daughter, Linda Wright of Harrisburg and Karen Scott of Jonesboro; four brothers, Alfred, Ted and Jess Johnson all of Harrisburg and Joe Johnson of Arizona; four sisters, Cindy Davis, Arizona "Zone" Layton, both of Harrisburg, Sylvia Thurman of Neosho, Mo., and Sharon Easton of Colorado; seven grandchildren, Eddie Churchwell, Jr., Michael Churchwell, Jimmy Stone, Brett Scott, Candice Churchwell, Shannon Scott and Rydr Churchwell and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Mike Glover and Rev. Van Gilbert officiating. Burial followed at Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg.

Pallbearers were Eddie Churchwell, Eddie Churchwell, Jr., Michael Churchwell, Jimmy Stone, Brett Scott and Terry Nelson. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Closson, Hershel Flanigan, J.D. Flanigan, Chuck Cheney, Donald faulker, Larry Peifer, American Legion Post 14, Billy Ray Cooper, Doug Lambert, Big Sonny Griffin, Jess Murray, Don Plessinger, Don Worthey, Gary Cooper, George Adams, Marvin Krais, Perry Cooker, Mickey Cooper, Sonny Deckleman, Jr. Laden, Elmo Foster, Barry Mitleff, Raymond Bell, Cecil Roberts, Charlie Cancil and St. Major Jimmy Page.
