He was born in Blytheville and had lived in Trumann for the past 11 years and was formerly of Weona. He was a retired farmer, served in the Marine Corp. in World War II, wounded in battle at Iwo Jima and a member of the Christian Worship Center in Trumann.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Wilson; one sister, four brothers and his parents, Franklin Joseph and Clara Cotton Wilson.
He is survived by one daughter, Rita (David) Weltner of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, George Franklin (Sandra) Wilson of Trumann, William Dale (Hattie) Wilson of Bald Knob and Russell Lee (Sharon) Wilson of Trumann; 10 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and special friend, Bea Crowell of Trumann.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 14 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with Rev. Tommy Jordan and Rev. Hershel Motes officiating. Burial followed in Marked Tree Cemetery.
