Carla Sue Benson, 59, of Harrisburg passed away on Jan. 16, 2005 at NEA Medical Center of Jonesboro of natural causes.

She was born in Hoxie and had lived in Harrisburg for the past 26 years and was formerly of Jonesboro. She was an auditor for UPS and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Allie Guess Whittaker.

She is survived by her husband, John Benson of the home; three daughters, Lesa Poisso of Harrisburg, Tonya Thornton and Melinda Mitchell, both of Warren; one brother, Neil Whittaker; two sisters, Barbara Brown of Manchester, Mo. and Ruby Couch of Brookland and three grandchildren, Alex Pace, Kailey Thornton and Gavin Martin.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. A private burial followed at Holly Springs Cemetery.
