He was 69 years old.
He was born in Trumann and had lived in Pocahontas since 1975. He was involved in law enforcement for over 35 years, serving as TPD Chief for almost seven years, served as Pocahontas Chief twice and worked for the Arkansas Driver Control Department. He was a veteran of the US Army and of the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Meridith and Pauline Coker and his parents, Thomas William and Goldie Marie Keel Meridith.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Banks Meridith of the home; two daughters, Tommie Tribble and Sylvia Hooker, both of Pocahontas; one son, Bobby Meridith of Trumann; two sisters, June Whitmire of Trumann and Diane Sutterfield of Jonesboro; two brothers, Tommy Jo Meridith of Trumann and Jerry Ray Meridith of Flintville, Tenn. and two grandchildren, David Jeremy Tribble and Tonya Renee Blaylock.
Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Don Simpson and Rev. Harvey Noblin officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were John Patrick, Chad Mulligan, Doug Cousins, John Dalton, JB Williams, Tim Tidwell and Jeriel Summit.
