Born in Keevil, she had lived in the Trumann and Marked Tree areas before moving to Warren two years ago. She was a housewife, a former nurse for Marked Tree School District for 26 years and had been named Woman of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi sorority of Marked Tree. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church of Warren and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Trumann.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Schmitz of Warren; four grandchildren, Amy Russell of Trumann, Melissia Shears and Bud Gray, both of Cabot, and Danny Schmitz of Beebe; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Keith; one daughter, Linda Bilderback; her parents, Beve and Amy Suggart Rodgers; and one brother.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers and the Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Burial followed in Marked Tree Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
