Modena Ratliff Nichols

Modena Ratliff Nichols, 79, of Bay died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Craighead Nursing Center.

Born at Hardy, she had lived in Northeast Arkansas for most of her life, was a homemaker and a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Nichols Sr. of the home; a son, Frank Nichols Jr. of Bay; a daughter, Frances Stephens of Jonesboro; a sister, Maxine McCrory of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Lisa Clifft of Cordova, Tenn., and Michael Stephens, Holly Kiech and Dana Devereux, all of Jonesboro; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Amanda Modena Pinkston Ratliff.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro, with Leonard Lingenfelter officiating. Burial followed in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland.

Active pallbearers were Hansel Stephens, Sonny Lingenfelter, Keith Lingenfelter, Don Clifft, Travis Kiech and Allen Devereux.

Honorary pallbearers included Kevin McMasters, Quillon Vincent, Bud Warren, Bob Kitterman and Joe Holt.
