Robert Lee Dewitt II

Robert Lee Dewitt, II, 75 of Lake City died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born at Tulot and had lived in Lake City for the past 28 years. He was a retired car dealer and finance manager, a US Navy veteran of the Korean War and a former member of the Lake City Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Dewitt; his parents, William Cecil and Hettie Dewitt and two brothers, Paul Dewitt and Henry Dewitt.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Lee Dewitt of the home; one son, Robert Lee Dewitt, III of Lake City; one grandson, Courtley Johnson of Dixie; one brother, WC Dewitt of Fort Worth, Tex.; two sisters, Mary Lou Thomas of Burnt Hill and Janie Stewart of South Bend, Ind. and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Refuge General Baptist Church near Lake City with Rev. Larry Ward officiating. A private burial was under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
