She was born in Hazen and had lived in Trumann for 30 years, moving from Memphis. She was retired from DuPont and Kimberly Clark and was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Trumann.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Stanford Chaffin, Woodrow Chaffin and Ralph Howe; her parents, Lewis Hunter and Mary Stella Barlow and one brother, L.H. Sanders.
She is survived by one son, Rick Chaffin, of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Bill Sanders of Cynthiana, Ky.; one sister, Caroline Boydstum of Bosier City, La. and two grandchildren, Jenni Brooks and Michael Brooks.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 23, 2005 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Shaw officiating. Burial followed at Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers were Tom Landreth, Bill Neese, Sam Cantor, Jamey Merritt, Mead Boydston and James Sanders.
