Joe Tucker, 69, of Harrisburg died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born in Locust Grove, Ok. and was very proud of his Cherokee Heritage. He worked for 22 years at Singer Company and later worked in the construction field. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg, and one of his favorite pastimes was square dancing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Josie Tucker; three brothers, and a sister.

He is survived by, his wife, Mary Tucker of the home and one brother, Eli Tucker of Harrisburg.

Funeral services were Friday, May 20, 2005, at Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Jerry Kausler officiating. Burial followed at Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg.

Active pallbearers were James Tucker, Floyd Tucker, Steve Tucker, Nathan Tucker, Ricky Tucker and Josh Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Turpin, John Fortenberry, Terry Tucker and Charles Layton.
