Thelma Maxine Hughes, 79, of Trumann died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Burleson, Tex.

She was born in Trumann and had lived most of her life in Trumann before moving to Burleson. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Burleson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Hughes; a son, James Hughes; two sisters, Audrey Brown and Imogene Dillard; one brother, Vurlin Turner and her parents, Raymond Charles and Effie Rouse Turner.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Brenda and Jerry Downs of Burleson; two sons, Donald and Lori Hughes of Hardy and Charles and Linda Hughes of The Colony, Tex.; two sisters, Bessie Polston of Jacksonville and Jessie Secrease of Searcy; one brother, Willie Turner; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Saturday, May 27, 2005 at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland with Rev. Ron Liles officiating.

Pallbearers were Tim Down, Jeff Downs, Daniel Polston, Ronnie Hughes, Steve Secrease and Bill Polston.
