She was born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann. She taught school for 22 years in Arkansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and Kentucky as well as serving ten years as an Arkansas Extension Home Economist. She was names Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities received a BS degree from Arkansas State and later she accepted a graduate assistanceship in Home Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. There she received her MS degree. She did post graduate work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She was a member of the Trumann United Methodist Church, having served as chairperson of the administrative board, served as UMW circle chairperson and treasurer of UMW. She served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary, was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Society and member of the American Home Economics Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl B. and Stella Riegle Glasgow, Sr. and two brothers, Earl "Red" Glasgow, Jr. and Bryan "Curly" Glasgow.
She is survived by five nieces, Susie Gairhan of Trumann, Jan Pohlner of Fisher, Kim Novarse, Leah Glasgow and Pam Glasgow, all of Memphis; four great nieces, Carrie Gilmer of Conway, Tori Pohlner of Fisher, Micah Gairhan of Trumann and Leah Novarse of Memphis; four great-nephews, Chris Giarhan of Jonesboro, Nic Getske, Roman Novarse and Russ Walker, all of Memphis; three great-great-nephews, Grayson Gairhan of Jonesboro, Dalton Walker and Dominic Walker, both of Memphis and one great-great-niece, Emma Getske of Memphis.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 18, 2005, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Leon Wilson officiating, burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers were Michael Gairhan, Chris Gairhan, Roger Pohlner, Derick Gilmer, Philip Novarse and Nic Getske. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Holifield, Eldon Gartman, Jerry McKinney, Robert Black and Al Lindsey.
