J. Henry Davis Jr., 84, of Trumann died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at St. Bernard's Medical Center of Jonesboro of natural causes.

He was born in Trumann and was a lifelong resident, he was a retired farmer, factory worker for Parker-Hannifin, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Sr. and Melinnie Jane Bowman Davis; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Murline Davis of the home; three sons, Elmer Daniel "Danny" Davis of Trumann, James Henry "Jim" Davis III of Lepanto and Paul David Davis of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Stewart of Trumann and Virgie Maxwell of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Christie Sue Davis, Wendy Ann Becker, Jeremy Paul Davis and Angela Nicole Wilson; and a great-grandson, Harley Ray Becker.

Funeral services were Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chance Wilson, Lenny Becker, Hubert Ruiz, Hal Stewart, Stanley Rennecker and Rob McIlwain.
