Robert Wayne Byrd, 69, of Trumann died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at his residence of natural causes.

Born at Trumann, he lived at Wayne, Mich., before moving back to Trumann four years ago. He was retired from General Motors and was of the Church of Christ faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bill and Vivian McGowan Byrd; three sisters, Patsy Ruth Moon, Susie Mae Byrd and Juanita Penter and one brother, Russell Ward.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny Byrd and Jimmy Byrd, both of Wayne, and Roger Byrd of Westland, Mich.; three brothers, Jerry Byrd of Blytheville, Leroy Byrd of Snyder, Okla., and Braden Byrd of Trumann; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, August 13, 2005 in the Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
