A memorial service was Sunday, August 21, 2005, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel in Overland Park, Kansas.
He was born in Bellevue, Kentucky and graduated high school there. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII seeing action in the South Pacific. He retired from Baldwin Piano after 52 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Richards Kennedy; two sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his two sons, Joseph C. Kennedy, Jr. and his wife Jone of Grenada, Miss. and Jim Kennedy and his wife, Saundra of Prairie Village, Kansas; one sister, Betty Ramsey of Spring Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
