She was born in Sault Marie, Mich. and had lived in Trumann for the past 32 years and was formerly of Lawton, Okla. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by one sister and her parents, John Joseph and Ila Pearl Wonnecot Ahola.
She is survived by her husband, J.B. Smith of the home; one daughter, Laura Maw Powers of Trumann; one sister, Mary Laux of Holland, Mich.; two brothers, John J. Ahola of Lansing, Mich. and Roy Raymond Ahola of Holland, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jackie Simpson, Dana Francis and David Barnes and three great-grandchildren, Billy Joe Simpson, Jr., Brent Adam Simpson and Tanner "J.B." Simpson.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Mike Willard officiating. Burial followed at Pine Log cemetery in Brookland.
Active pallbearers were John Smith, Roy Powers, Billy Simpson, Jerry Keith, Sonny Laux and Kevin Baxter. Honorary pallbearers were David Francis and David Barnes.
