He was born in McNary County, Tenn. He was a furniture upholster and member of the Church of Christ in Trumann. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Lora Christine Tate; three brothers, Raymond Tate, Authur Tate and Fred Tate and three sisters, Edith Nagel, Ethel Parsons and Bautrice Eaker.
He is survived by three brothers, Roy Tate of Crumpler, North Carolina, W.G. Tate of Wynne and Allen Tate of Richland, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 12, 2005 at Jacksons Funeral Home Chapel with Nolan Glover officiating. Interment followed at Farm Hill Cemetery.
