He was born at Tulot. He was a member of Anderson Tulley Baptist Church, worked at Singer for 20 years and retired from the Harrisburg School District after 10 years. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Pearl Waters; two brothers, one sister and one grandson, Shawn Tillery.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Helton Walters of Harrisburg; one son, Mike Waters and his wife, Vickey of Trumann; one daughter, Debbie Tillery and her husband, Wayne of Harrisburg; three brothers, Leon Waters and Barry Waters, both of Weona, Carl Waters of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Jewell King of Trumann, Marie Sloan and Bonnie Hillis, both of Weona; two grandchildren, Jessica Deckleman and Cody Walters and three great-grandchildren, Jake Tillery, Olivia Deckleman and Michael Deckleman.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 22 at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Peters officiating. Interment followed at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack Stalnaker, Clifford Clover, Bo Martin, Jay Clayton, David Sloan, Buddy King, Wesley King and Cody Waters.
