Elsie Canella Whitmire, 83, of Trumann died Thursday, Oct. 13, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Strawberry, she lived in Trumann most of her life. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Kelley of Trumann; two granddaughters, Sabara Heard of Jonesboro and Robyn Heard of Trumann; and two great-grandsons, Austyn Elrod and Ryder Elrod, both of Trumann.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Julia Mason Turner.

Private graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 at Jonesboro Memorial Park, with the Rev. Doug Welborn officiating. Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann was in charge of arrangements.
