He was born at Jonesboro and lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a truck driver for Roadway Express. He was a veteran of the Marine Reserve, a member of Ducks Unlimited and a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church of Evening Shade.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Sample Ballard of the home and his mother, Betty Vaden Ballard of Trumann.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Ballard and stepbrother, Jackie Ballard.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with the Rev. Steve Farmer and the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jerry King, Rick Carter, Roy Barber, Dean Terry, Mike Campbell, Orville Halsey, Riley Bullard, Gaylon Henley and Mike Roach.
