Virginia Lee Yancey, 75, of Harrisburg died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at her home. She was born March 24, 1930 in Smithville, to Arthur and Willie Mae Banks. She was a homemaker and member of the New Covenant Church in Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Anthony Yancey; five brothers, JB Banks, Leonard Banks, Billy Banks, Vernon Banks and Milt Banks and one granddaughter, Rebecca Nichols.

She is survived by three sons, Butch Yancey of Harrisburg, Tom Yancey of Marina, Calif. and David Yancey of Trumann; five daughters, Shirley Yancey and Melissa Hopper, both of Harrisburg, Charlotte Nichols of Wynne, Vickie Hively of Cherry Valley and Linda Popejoy of Trumann; three sisters, Hazel Hunt of Tupelo, Miss., Geneva Meyers of Indianapolis, Ind. and Sylvia Back of Mansfield, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 23 at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment followed at Farm Hill Cemetery.
