Smith died on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Louis Jones, Sr., J,R. Taylor, Michael Hamrick, Christopher Hanirick, Don Neal and Jerad Wortharn. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Wimpy, Johnny Riley, Don Detering, James Williams, Jerry Rieathbaum, Dana Collins, Randy Mills, Bob Chandler and Richard Rudolph.
A lifetime resident of Harrisburg, Logan was born Oct. 20, 1939 in Harrisburg, the son of Robert and Alma Smith. He married Kathleen Jenkins on Jan. 5, 1961, and they enjoyed 44 years together. He was a farmer, a gunsmith and a small engine repairman. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg ant he loved to hunt, fish and trap. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alma Smith one son, Robert Logan Smith; one daughter, Glenda "Lucy" Smith"; two sisters, Oma Smith and Alma Jean Mc.Keller and one grandson, Joel Edward Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Smith of the home; two sons, Terry Wayne Smith and Perry D. Smith, both of Harrisburg; three daughters, Kathy Ann Jones and Brenda Ann Hamrick, both of Harrisburg, and Linda Kay Jones of Trumann; seven brothers, Joey Smith, Robert Dale Smith, Sherman Smith, Rodger Smith, Jimmy Smith, and Steven Smith, all of Harrisburg, and John D. Smith of Weiner, one sister, Mary Gail Irvin of Harrisburg; 13 grandchildren, Pam Jones, Louis Jones, J.R Taylor, Johnna Parker, Krystal Smith, Jerad Wortham, Kendra Smith, Christopher Hamrick Jennifer Lunsford, Kara Smith Andy Lunsford, Whitley Smith and Erica Jones; and nine great grandchildren, Blaike Jones, Blaire Jones, Kolton Jones, Miranda Jones, Mackenzie Taylor, Makayla Taylor, Ethan Joel Taylor, Jason Harper and Cayden Wortham.
