Riley was born in and was a lifetime resident of Trumann, a self-employed backhoe operator, a farmer and a member of Christian Worship Center in Trumann.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Berry Riley in 2005; a brother, Donald E. Riley; and was the son of the late Otto and Irene Baker Riley.
He is survived by three daughters, Rhonda Richardson, Brenda Riley and Sandra Young-Shuburte, all of Trumann; two brothers, Glen Riley of Marion and Dale Riley of Trumann; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tommy Jordan officiating. Burial followed in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
Active pallbearers were Richard Clark, William Cobb, J.R. Coker, Jeff LaFollette, Donald Norris, Jimmy Roush, Kenny Shuburte and Jody Thomas.
