Virgil Ray Hopkins, 59, of Trumann died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006 at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann.

He was a maintenance supervisor for Trumann Housing Authority and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Passmore and his parents Harry Earl "Pete" and Claudia Odell Shoopman Hopkins.

Survivors include his wife Andrea Kelso Hopkins of the home; one son and daughter-in-law,

Scott and Amanda Hopkins of Trumann; one sister, Patsy Branum of Trumann.

Funeral services are today at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Kelso, Jerry Kelso, Gary Kelso, Finis Kelso, Mike Kelso and Keith Kelso.

Honorary pallbearers will include employees of the Trumann Housing Authority.

Memorials may made be made to the First Baptist Church in Trumann or the Jonesboro Humane Society.
