Born September 14, 1913, in Mississippi, he was the son of the late Luther H. Fowler and Annice Stacy Fowler. He was a lifetime resident of Poinsett County having lived in Harrisburg, Weona and Trumann.
He was a cotton ginner for over 20 years and worked for the Poinsett State Park for 15 years. He married Ethel Savannah Pace on Nov. 20, 1937, and they enjoyed 66 years together before her death on Nov. 6, 2003. He was a charter member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann and enjoyed spending time with his family, doing yard work and gardening.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Fowler and three sisters, Lorene Redd, Settle Fov1er and Manile Lee Mitcherson.
He is survived by five sons, Delbert Fow1er of Jonesboro, Jimmy Fowler and Larry Fowler, both of Trumann, Leon Fowler of Manchester, Tenn. and Ronnie Fowler of Collierville, Tenn; three daughters, Phyllis Fowler and Brenda Gatlin, both of Conway, and Donnie Morgan of Moitice11o; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann with Rev. Rick Forbis and Rev. Gene Lovens officiating. Interment followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park under the direction of Weston Funeral Service of Harrisburg.
Pallbearers included his five sons and Aubrey Mitcherson and Butch Mitcherson. Honorary Pallbearers included men of the church and Wayne Gatlin and Royce Morgan.
